The supply chain in the refinery industry involves managing the flow of resources and products from crude oil sourcing to the distribution of refined products to consumers. It encompasses upstream activities (exploration and production), midstream (transportation and storage), and downstream (refining, distribution, and marketing). Effective supply chain management is crucial for optimizing operations, reducing costs, and ensuring a reliable supply of petroleum products.
Different petroleum types are supplied to the refineries from a single oil terminal. Results show that the optimization of the supply chain presents clear advantages of the corporate planning with respect to multiple one-site refinery production planning.
